Ampleforth

Ampleforth is a village in the Ryedale district, on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, about 23 miles north of York.

Ampleforth Abbey, a community of Benedictine monks, is just outside the village. The monks of the abbey run Ampleforth College, the largest private Catholic mixed boarding school in the UK, which is sometimes referred to as the "Catholic Eton".
