Beverley is a market town in the East Riding of Yorkshire. It is also the county town of the riding.
It is situated 8 miles north of Hull, 10 miles east of Market Weighton and 12 miles west of Hornsea.
In 2007 Beverley was identified as the best place to live in Britain in a study by the Royal Bank of Scotland.
Beverley Art Gallery (above the public library) holds the largest collection of works by celebrated local artist Frederick Elwell.
