HarewoodHarewood is a village on the outskirts of Leeds, on the A61 which runs from Leeds City Centre in the south to Harrogate in the north. The village adjoins the stately home of Harewood House. Harewood is a fine example of a Georgian planned estate village. In 1760 the village was completely levelled and rebuilt by the Lascelles family of Harewood House. The houses, consisting of stately stone-built terraces, were for the use of managers and workers on the estate, and were designed by John Carr, the architect of Harewood House.
