Marske-by-the-Sea

Marske-by-the-Sea is a large village on the coast in East Cleveland, between the seaside resorts of Redcar and Saltburn-by-the-Sea.

Winkies Castle Folk Museum, the smallest museum in the area, was founded by local cobbler Jack Anderson in 1975 and bequeathed to the local council on his death in 2001. The museum, named after Jack's cat who once lived there, has many unique hands-on artifacts from hundreds of years of Marske's history.

Both Marske Brass Band and Marske Fishermens Choir perform many local concerts each year.
